Thramer CTS Payne Series

Understated, elegant, refined, consistent and eminently capable, our Payne taper rods are one of the best choices for a medium action, do it all rod. They have a very consistent feel from one model to the next. You can tell when you cast a Thramer CTS Payne Series rod.

The tapers are always suited to the water at hand. From the 98, with it's brisk action, it is light tipped enough for small dries, but heavy enough to handle a #12 weighted nymph, to the 204L, with it's demonstrated ability to handle both small dries in the East, to moderate streamers in the West. The 200L will be happy in any small creek, offering superior line control for the lightest tippets, but retains it's ability to extend itself for long casts, capable of bringing that 4 pound brown to the net. If you like one Payne taper, you will like them all.
