About AJ and McKenzie
Our Story
As a fourth generation Oregonian, AJ was born in Eugene in 1957. His son, McKenzie, was born in the same hospital in 1988. Named after our world famous river, McKenzie's earliest memories include fishing with his father and grandfather all over our great state.
How is started
Sometime after his 18th birthday, AJ wanted to build his own rod. With everyone telling him it was impossible, AJ set out on a mission to build just one. Thousands of rods later, AJ is joined by his son and now together, they build the best split cane bamboo rods available.
How it is going
