Thramer CTS Dickerson Series

Dickerson rods can be separated into two categories, his 2 piece and his 3 piece models. Our concentration has been on his 2 piece models, as we find they exemplify his unique taper designing ability. What do his tapers offer? They are quick, fast, dry fly tapers while retaining the delicacy needed to be excellent universal fishing rods. Dickerson tapers are easy to time and cast, they inspire confidence to those new to bamboo, while offering the experienced angler an extremely capable fishing instrument. 

Dickerson's range of skills are astounding. He designed his own beveller using milling heads. AJ worked with Al Bellinger to reproduce this machine.  Ferrules? He drew his own tubing and built his unique ferrules from that tubing. Reel seats? He designed his own following a pretty standard pattern. Not having a drawn hooded butt cap, he made his own set of dies to draw hem himself. Dickerson was one of the many builders who we feel were undervalues during his lifetime, full appreciation for his contributions to the craft of rod building had to wait.
