Settled in the Willamette Valley, between the McKenzie and Willamette rivers, we have been hand building bamboo rods for over 40 years. The number of rods sits between 1,500 and 2,000, we may have lost some records from the early parts of the 1980's.

Our mission at Thramer Rods is to build high quality rods that are meant to be fished for generations. Using techniques developed over the last 1,500 rods or so, we continuously deliver on this promise.

The first AJ Thramer rod was built because people kept telling AJ he couldn't. We have taken that pure determination to build the best bamboo rods money can buy, without the high price tag. We specialize in our own tapers, as well as tapers from the most famous American rod builders.
